Junior A Hurling Championship this weekend

All roads lead to Castletownkenneigh this Sunday, August 2nd when the Junior A hurlers take on St Colums in the quarter-final of this years Championship. It was St Colums who ended St James good run in the competition two years ago at the semi-final stage and again the men from Kealkill were victors by a margin of eight points in the League meeting earlier this year. Attitudes will need to be right for this one in a game where the St James lads are more than capable of upsetting the odds. A big parish support for the team would be appreciated, throw-in is at 3pm. Best of luck lads!!!

Many thanks to all who supported the Clubs annual Church gate collection on last weekend, your support is very much appreciated.

The club Lotto wasn’t won in the Mountain House on Sunday night last. The jackpot is now at €9,700, the next draw takes place in the Pike Bar on Friday August 14th at 11pm.

Remember St James GAA club is the chosen beneficiary of this year’s ever-popular Ardfield Summer Festival which begins this Sunday, please support the festival, events advertised locally.

Again, as always please check the recently revamped website, the ARC and the Church cross noticeboard for details of upcoming games.

Finally don’t forget Ardfield/Rathbarry Oldtime Threshing supporting St James underage takes place on Sunday August 9th. As ever, there will be plenty of fun, games and activities for both young-in-age and young-at-heart to enjoy.
