Fearghal Beamish (1988 – 2015)
Defeat in the Junior A Football Championship, Club Lotto, Sports Camps, Underage matters, fundraising – all of the Club matters that seemed so “important” in the last few weeks were absolutely blown to insignificance on Tuesday morning last when the devastating news started to filter around the local community of the tragic, untimely death of St James’ young player Fearghal Beamish. All at St James GAA club and surrounding area are stunned by the tragic news of a hugely popular clubmate and great friend to many, who died following an accident at his place of work.
Fearghal was a member of the St James Junior football panel who along with five of his school class-mates, lined out against Castlehaven last Sunday evening in championship football in Rosscarbery.
He had been a club player from his underage days to the present and was also involved in the running of the club lotto at the Pike Bar, a draw that his father John does trojan work in promoting.
Everyone at the Club is stunned at the news and sympathize with his team-mates who will find the dressing room banter to be very subdued for the near future.
The Club extend our deepest sympathy to his father John,
brother Gearoid, sisters Eimear and Nollaig, and all of his relatives and
friends. We cannot begin to imagine what you are going through. Fearghal will
be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.
