St James’ 4-11 Barryroe 0-5

A good workmanlike performance last weekend saw St James’ take both league points on offer in the opening game of the Junior A football league. Barryroe looked the sharper early on, kicking two frees with the aid of a very strong wind, before Frank Hayes netted his first of three goals. At the break it stood 1-2 to 0-3. Upon resumption, St James’ upped the tempo, and ran out easy winners. This Sunday it’s an away game against Kilmacabea in Leap at 12pm, and no doubt a much tougher test.

Team: Diarmuid O’Donovan, David Hayes, Tadhg Feen, Eoin Deasy, Micheal McCarthy (D) 0-1, Donnacha McCarthy, James O’Sullivan, Kevin O’Leary, Paul O’Sullivan 0-1, Ian Evans 0-1, Mark Evans, Kevin O’Brien 0-1, Kieran O’Donovan 0-3, Damien Bennett, Frank Hayes 3-2.
