A new season begins this Sunday with the junior footballers out against Barryroe in St James’ Park at 2.30pm. The following Sunday St James’ juniors are away to Kilmacabea in Leap at 12pm. The club is asking for support from parishioners for all our teams as we begin a new effort to get silverware back to the club in 2017.

Underage hurling action gets underway this weekend as well with the U10 hurlers playing Clonakilty in Ahamilla on Sunday morning at 11.45. This age group continues to train every Friday night in the hall at 7pm followed by the U12s at 7.45.

There was no winner in the recent lotto draw. The numbers drawn were 13, 22, 29. Lucky dips went to Anne and Jim Fitzpatrick, Balteenbrack, Denis O’Sullivan, Greenanes and James O’Leary, Mountain. In the lotto-plus draw the numbers were 9, 27, 32, with one winner: congratulations to Noreen Hayes, Clonakilty on scooping the jackpot. The main jackpot now stands at €12,000, with the lotto-plus jackpot at €100.
Many annual lotto tickets are expiring around this time, along with club membership. The membership rates offer tremendous value, with club membership entitling holders to entry for match tickets, an annual lotto ticket, and gym membership. There are various rates to choose from, so club officers are available to discuss the options.
